Acceptable use policy
FlyANote exists to help small organizations talk to people who want to hear from them. This policy covers everyone who sends through FlyANote: people using the app, developers using the API, and AI agents acting for a customer. The account owner is responsible for everything sent from their account.
1. Permission
- Send marketing email only to people who clearly agreed to receive it from you. Keep a record of when and how they agreed.
- Do not use purchased, rented, shared, harvested, or scraped lists, or lists of people who never interacted with you.
- Transactional email (receipts, password resets, event confirmations) must relate to something the recipient did.
2. Every message
- Identify who it's from, with an accurate From name, address, and subject line.
- Marketing email must include a working one-click unsubscribe and a valid postal address where the law requires one. Honor unsubscribes immediately.
- Follow the anti-spam and privacy laws that apply to you and your recipients, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and PECR.
3. Content you can't send
- Illegal content, or content promoting illegal activity.
- Phishing, malware, deceptive links, or impersonation of another person, brand, or organization.
- Sexually explicit material, and anything that exploits or endangers children.
- Harassment, threats, or content that promotes violence or hatred against people based on protected characteristics.
- High-risk offers such as get-rich-quick schemes, multi-level marketing recruitment, payday loans, debt relief, unlicensed pharmaceuticals, or gambling where not licensed.
- AI-generated content presented to mislead recipients about who is speaking or what is true.
4. Sending health
- Authenticate your own sending domain (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC), or use a FlyANote address within its limits.
- Keep bounce and spam-complaint rates low. We watch these automatically, and accounts that exceed safe thresholds are paused while we work with you.
- New accounts start with modest sending limits that grow as they build a good record.
5. Enforcement
We check content and sending patterns automatically. When something looks wrong, we may pause a send, lower limits, or suspend an account, and we tell you why and how to fix it. Serious or repeated violations lead to account closure. Illegal content is reported to the authorities where required.
6. Reporting
If you received unwanted email sent through FlyANote, forward it to [email protected]. Security issues go to [email protected].
